BACKGROUND

The leader of the Children of the Nameless God, Josef, has not been in speaking terms with his estranged daughter Ophelia after she decided to get married to a member of religion that later became The Order of Cain. While dealing with their devastating loss, Josef is in a complex mental state. Their tragedy makes him finally realize that of all the horrors that can be caused by different belief systems, the biggest tragedy is when beliefs tear apart families that are supposed to love each other no matter what.

He writes a heartfelt letter to her daughter to share the bad news and asks her to come back. He promises to not let the beliefs come between them ever again, but old habits also die hard. In his sorrow and frustration he can’t help asking a couple of questions about her god's involvement in their tragedy.

The instrumental part summarizes the events of The Year of Capricorn.

Dear Ophelia, I hope this message finds you well. We have not talked in years, I wish I had better news to tell.

Five hundred men came from the west, Your Gods symbols on their chest. The wanted our faith dead or alive. Only a handful did survive.

I have no word for the state we are in, your brother and I are the last of your kin. Your mother now rests on The Hill. And little Joy, she is missing still….

Can I ask you to come back, please? Let's unite the team we used to be. I won't question your beliefs, but I still have to ask you this:

Where is your higher power … in our darkest hour? If he is only testing your faith, that is a gruesome test to take.
